"GO GREEN" is the buzz phrase in the automotive sector with the planetary concerns about climate change gaining momentum in the 21st century. Automakers across the world have been striving hard to meet the environmental challenges and Honda has emerged as the frontrunner in producing eco-friendly vehicles. The latest vehicle from the Honda stable that stands "close to nature" is 2009 Honda Civic GX NGV that runs on compressed natural gas (CNG) which emits almost zero pollution. The aerodynamic exterior with new six-sided grille and the futuristic cockpit design that features a two-tier instrument panel provides a unique view of all instrumentation. The home-refueling appliance called Phill helps you to fill up the tank at your home and you don't have to worry about the long winding queues at gas stations any more.
Use CARS for new cars
Considering trading in your vehicle? Take advantage of the CAR Allowance Rebate System (CARS), a federal program that helps the consumers buy or lease a more environmentally-friendly vehicle from dealers when they trade in a less fuel-efficient car or truck. The CARS is basically a $1 billion government program through which the consumers can get a $3,500 or $4,500 discount from the dealer when they trade in their old vehicle and buy or lease a new one. One main plus point of the program is that the consumers do not have to register anywhere or at any time for this program. Here are a few important points to keep in mind to utilize the benefits of this program. Your vehicle must be less than 25 years old on the trade-in date Only purchase or lease of new vehicles qualify Generally, trade-in vehicles must get 18 or less MPG (some very large pick-up trucks and cargo vans have different requirements). Trade-in vehicles must be registered and insured continuously for the full year preceding the trade-in The program requires the scrapping of your eligible trade-in vehicle, and that the dealers disclose to you an estimate of the scrap value of your trade-in. The scrap value, however minimal, will be in addition to the rebate, and not in place of the rebate. Last but not the least, the CARS program runs through November 1, 2009 or when the funds are exhausted, whichever comes first Log on to http://www.cars.gov/ to know more. It is a program aimed at strengthening the economy, improving auto sales and put safer, cleaner and more fuel-efficient vehicles on the nation's roadways. Come take advantage of this Limited Period Offer today! Enjoy!

The From Sweden With Lov Tour
The From Sweden with Lov Tour was a great success here at Darrell Waltrip Volvo. Thanks to all who participated! Darrell Waltrip himself appeared for the unveiling of Volvo’s newest model, the 2010 Volvo XC60. Darrell was joined by John Gallagher, General Manager of Darrell Waltrip Automotive, as well as Michelle and JoaKim, executive representatives from Volvo of America. The representatives began with a brief history of Volvo and the company’s impressive contributions to automotive safety. (You may be surprised to learn that among Volvo’s inventions is the seatbelt!) The new crossover SUV was then revealed. The XC60 is equipped with many standard safety elements but features the all new City Safety system. City Safety uses a laser sensor to automatically apply the brakes when the vehicle is approaching an object or vehicle too quickly (up to 18 mph). Attendees test drove the XC60 and demonstrated that City Safety stopped the vehicle to avoid hitting a pylon, even when the driver failed to apply the brakes! City Safety is intended to help avoid a crash or reduce the impact of a collision in slow moving traffic. The From Sweden with Lov Tour continues the introduction of the remarkable XC60 nationwide through March. Special thanks to Panera Bread for providing coffee and pastries, and to J&M Corporate Catering for the delicious homemade cookies! Labels: Volvo, XC60
