We can tell you how much we love the 2016 Honda Civic until we're blue in the face--but we'll never be an unbiased opinion. We're passionate about the Honda brand, and many of us have practically grown up with the Civic.

So, when the time comes to tell drivers in Franklin, Nashville, Murfreesboro, and Madison about the all-new 2016 Honda Civic Coupe, we're anything but a neutral source. We fell in love with the new design at first glance, and it's been holding our hearts ever since. The front end is tight and fierce. The back end seems to have taken some cues from the gorgeous Honda CR-Z hybrid, boasting a sleeker roofline and sculpted corners that give it a more muscular and athletic look. And every inch in-between is stronger, longer, and more impressive than ever before.

Pure, true love on our end.

So, we turned to our colleagues at Edmunds.com, a renowned source for practical and fair car reviews across the industry. They took a good, hard look at the new Civic Coupe... and they loved it, too.

They examined the five trim levels--the Civic Coupe LX, LX-P (a new option, for "LX Premium"), the EX-T (EX Turbo), EX-L (EX with Leather), and the new Civic Coupe Touring--and then took this baby for a test drive. Here's what they had to say:

  • "This is a nicely buttoned-down chassis that is lithe and nimble, and it doesn't exhibit an excess of body roll"
  • "That efficient 1.5-liter turbo produces impressive thrust, enough to propel our Touring test car from zero to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds"
  • "This best-in-class CVT may, in fact, be superior to more than a few automatics it competes against"

And that's just for road performance; there were multiple other sections detailing the Civic Coupe's interior, infotainment, technology features, and more. See previous posts for our take on Civic features.

The new Civic Coupe is raring up to hit dealerships like Darrell Waltrip Honda in the spring of this yea. If you're in the market for a new compact car within the next six months or so, we encourage you to keep an eye on inventory for its arrival. Or, contact us online if you know that this spirited little two-door is right for you.
