Since it was released, the Honda Fit has been a smash hit with drivers nationwide, and in our Franklin, TN locale. Demand for the vehicle has been so high that some dealerships have been having trouble keeping up. Great news for the Japanese automaker to be certain, and a definite testament to that they really hit the nail on the head with this model. Now, Honda has revealed pictures of the next-gen Fit Hybrid.

We first got word of the 2014 iteration of the Fit in a leaked pamphlet that circulated online late last month, but there was no indication what variant of the compact auto it was. Now we have confirmation that it is, in fact, the next-generation hybrid edition of the immensely popular, fun-to-drive auto.

So, what's different? Mainly, it's the grille. For this iteration, Honda has given the Fit a more aggressive face, a possible homage to the determined character of this small car. On the inside, the hybrid is equipped a new single-motor e-assist system called Sport Hybrid i-DCD.

There is one downside, however. According to reports, the Fit Hybrid itself won't be released stateside, but its technology will, most likely in the form of a compact sedan of some kind within two years. We'll keep you updated on our blog as we learn more.

How about it, folks? Are you stoked about the possibility of a small hybrid using the Fit's technology? We know we are. Watch this space for further updates.
