We here at Darrell Waltrip Honda have been keeping an eye on this year's Geneva Motor Show and with good reason. In the weeks leading up to this year's show, we'd heard that Honda was planning on revealing a new concept that would help it secure a new lap record at the infamous Nürburgring.
And what was that, exactly? Honda revealed a new performance-driven concept: the Civic Type R.
This 2-door hatchback version of the Civic packs some serious good looks, but Honda knows that alone won't win them the Nürburgring lap record they're after. That’s why it features a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine under the hood. From what we've seen, this thing can churn out up to 276 horsepower.
Of course, the big question on our mind is when we can expect to see the Civic Type R in our Franklin, TN showroom. The answer depends on whether or not Honda decides to move the Type R from concept to production. And with that, we invite you to stay tuned to our blog for further details, should they arise.
