We fancy ourselves as pretty big fans of the Fit and Fit EV here at Darrell Waltrip Honda. Naturally, while we love the current model, we can't help but wonder what the next-generation will bring. We're happy to say we've gotten a nice peek--however, not of the U.S. edition.
Of course, that's the problem of having your preferred automaker based in another country. The home base often gets the updated models before we do, if we get them at all.
Needless to say, we were a bit jealous when the Japanese Fit got some makeover bits from MUGEN, a subset of Honda. These include motorsport-like parts, which give the Fit a sportier feel on the road. According to our sources, they will go on sale at some point this month.
The component availability is pretty diverse--offering everything from performance parts to enhancements to make the Fit better for racing. These will be sold through MUGEN at specialty shops throughout Japan.
As for the components themselves, there will be the option of a front spoiler, an under spoiler, and more, with the option of customizing based on the customer's needs. Pretty neat, right?
Of course, the new Fit won't be geared for racing like its Japanese counterpart, but it will still be pretty awesome. Stay tuned to our blog for ongoing updates about the next-generation Fit, and when we can expect to see it here in Franklin, TX. You can also drop by our dealership with your questions and set up a test drive at your convenience.
